Wednesday 9th August, 7pm – 9pm: Trans Femme Filmmakers – GiF
Join us for our midsummer screenings to celebrate six months of cinema with Girls in Film, revisiting the incredible talent showcased to date in the lead up to our GiF Summer Party on the 15th September.
Second up – looking back on International Women’s Day – for which GiF showcased work by fantastic trans femme filmmakers, showing solidarity with all those who identify as femme. It is important to GiF that their film community is intersectional and supportive of everyone, this came at a time following the devastating death of Brianna Ghey and the resulting media.
This screening includes the exquisite: Club Ate Ex Nilalang (From Creature ~ From Creation) directed by Justin Shoulder and Bhenji Ra, Shangri-La directed by Isabel Sandoval, How Not to Date While Trans directed by Nyala Moon, and Take Me directed by Luca Asta.
