Wednesday 16th August, 7 - 9pm: Food for Thought – GiF Summer Screening Series
Join us for our midsummer screenings to celebrate six months of cinema with Girls in Film, revisiting the incredible talent showcased to date in the lead up to our GiF Summer Party on the 15th September.
For the fifth selection of films at Shoreditch Arts Club, Girls in Film invited curator Ying-Di Yin. For the occasion, Ying-Di chose to explore the theme of food, examining what happens around rituals of eating, cultivation and cooking.
The female-directed shorts explores moments from the chef’s kitchen, with BAFTA-nominated ‘Bus Girl’ by Jessica Yu-Li Henwick, to the floor, with creative interpretations of waste in ‘WASTOPIA’ by Qianhui Yu, and plenty of dining in between, including ‘We Should Get Dinner’ by Eliza Cossio and Lexi Tannenholtz.
