Wednesday 8th October, 4pm — 5pm : 20th/21st Century Art Guided Tour at Christie’s
This October Christie’s welcomes members of Shoreditch Arts Club to a special guided tour of its 20th/21st Century Art auction series, charting the defining voices of modern movements in the art world.
From the Impressionists and post-war pioneers to contemporary artists shaping the canon of tomorrow, discover a preview of works by the artists who shaped and transformed the last 150 years of art history at Christie’s King Street.
Among the season’s highlights is The Ole Faarup Collection, built over five decades and reflecting a visionary eye. The collection features two masterpieces by Peter Doig, a major work by Chris Ofili, and significant pieces by the Neue Leipziger Schule, the YBAs, and leading Danish and Scandinavian artists. Also featured is Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, one of the greatest private collections of European prints and drawings today, remarkable for its range, focus and quality, spanning from around 1500 to 1960.
