Tuesday 5th September, 6 – 8pm: The Gallery Season 3 Premiere: “No But Where Are You Really From?”
The Gallery is a major art project by UK leading arts producer, Artichoke Trust, in collaboration with public artist Martin Firrell. The Gallery is new kind of culture institution without walls that challenges the traditional models of viewing art. Working with the Out-of-Home industry, The Gallery harnesses the power and reach of the advertising industry to bring art to where people live, travel, work and play.
Each season, The Gallery invites artists from around the world to respond to some of the most important issues of our time that generate public debate and meaningful conversations.
For its third season, The Gallery encourages artists to ask questions about origin, inclusivity, belonging, transition and change. The theme also extends to the exploration of exclusion and rejection based on identity. Curated by Bakul Patki, an independent curator and cultural consultant, these works will make their premiere at Shoreditch Arts Club before being displayed on billboards and digital screens across the UK. Expect speeches made by featured artists, a sparkling reception, and networking opportunities with fellow gallerists, curators and collectors at this intimate celebratory launch party.
