Thursday 24th October, 7 – 9pm: Textured Sounds
Join us for a Textured Sounds workshop led by artists Zethu Maseko and Talulah Ruby, where the interplay between sound and texture is explored by engaging you in sonic and tactile practices, to understand their deep rooted history in our culture.
Inspired by Pauline Oliveros' concept of Quantum Listening, this workshop invites you to engage in two essential forms of listening: focal (exclusive) and global (inclusive), while experimenting with weaving and fabric manipulation.
This hands-on approach will create a tangible understanding on how texture and sound both evoke emotional responses and tell stories, drawing inspiration from traditions where women have long used textiles and sound together as forms of expression.
This is a ticketed event. Members enjoy exclusive pricing – contact events@shoreditchartsclub.com to purchase or enquire.
