Tuesday 27th February, 6:30 – 9pm: Site & Sound 01 - Windows

Site & Sound is a new event series that will explore the relationship between architecture and film. Each session will feature curated clips and short films around a chosen theme, inviting discussion around particular elements of representation and the different techniques employed by filmmakers. The exploration for physical space and visual representation is far too broad for a single event, so the organisers will take a piecemeal approach to this rich and fascinating aspect of the film production. Themes will examine a multitude of perspectives on architecture, ranging from varying building types to their individual component parts and how these are interpreted by the viewer as they see the world through the lens of the built environment.

The first event on Tuesday 27th February at Shoreditch Arts Club and is curated by the photographer and filmmaker Jim Stephenson. Jim has decided to take Windows as his theme, looking at fenestration in the literal and metaphorical sense. From windows as a physical device to frame drama to windows as a means to express something deeper about characters and stories. Jim will be joined by special guests as he presents a range of clips from independent films, music videos, Hollywood, comedy and high drama over the course of an hour or so.
