Wednesday 13th November, 7 – 10:30pm: Num-0 by Back2Basix
“Num-0 is an original and imaginative performance installation that explores perspectives, blindspots, and the multiple versions of reality we can create depending on where we place our focus; what we choose or are allowed to see as well as the influences we carry from our personal and cultural backgrounds, experiences and upbringing. Told through movement and visuals and presented in a variety of mediums, the piece aims to inspire participants to look at things with a curious mind that is open and ready to rediscover possibilities and find commonalities where we often see limitations and separation.
The work is a multidisciplinary collaboration that features live dance, a photographic series and the dance film CLOSE UP, which has received multiple award nominations, by ourselves (Back2basix), with a set design and costumes curated by fashion artist The Dyás. Attendees will be able to experience the piece solely through sound in the cinema room. Featuring spoken word artists Anneliese Amoah & Eleanor May-Blackburn, this part of the work is part of an ongoing research of audio description as an art, as well as an invitation for all audiences to challenge their perception and explore their imagination by experiencing the work through an isolated sense.”
