Tuesday 5th March, 7 – 9pm: GiF — Otherworldly

‘Otherworldly’ is a curated selection of shorts where some narratives transport you to otherworldly dimensions, while others push boundaries of reality within experimental settings. As part of Shoreditch Arts Club’s International Women’s Day programme, this screening sets to explore women’s perspectives and share the works of female filmmakers in these experimental, poetic and alternative worlds. This includes ‘All Up There’ by Bonnie Macrae, a powerful exploration of youth, womanhood and medical misogyny; ‘The Dream That Refused Me’ by Jabu Nadia Newman, a short exploring new futuristic aesthetics of the African diaspora; and ‘A Cure for All Things’ by Katherine Chou, a sci-fi short about a vial that conjures ancestors from one’s past.
