Eurydice towards the Light

  • Shoreditch Arts Club 6 Redchurch Street London, England United Kingdom (map)

Thursday 16th January, 6 – 11:30pm: Eurydice towards the Light

Immerse yourself in an evening of ethereal performances, poetry and dance from artist Pauline Raybaud. Through mediums of dance, music and film, Eurydice towards the Light reimagines Greek mythologies and explores the role of women in narratives of love, loss and renewal.

From Raybaud:

Set between the French Boudoir vibes, New York Spoken Poetry nights, with a dash of Pina Bausch, Eurydice towards the Light transforms a concert into a theatrical act, unique, sensual and empowering. What happens if modern Eurydices find their own way towards the lights, and refuse the void of silence?

Under a unique, feminine and engaged eye, Raybaud’s narration fuses words and imagery, joined on stage by several performers, dancers and musicians. The poetical series revisits the Greek mythology through a new perspective, capturing the indomitable spirit of women finding strength in the face of heartbreak.

The night ends with film screenings and a DJ set closes the show, offering our guests the best of both worlds, magic for the eyes to see, and for the souls to dance..

The Eurydices are looking forward to welcoming you in their poetic universe, and take care of the night’s magic.
